Turiya Haudenhuyse is a Belgian soprano with Indian roots, known for her magnetic stage presence and versatility across opera, concert, and cross-genre performance. Her artistry bridges tradition and innovation, bringing a fresh voice to both classical and contemporary repertoires.
She made her debut at Dutch National Opera as Dinah in Bernstein’s Trouble in Tahiti, earning acclaim in The New York Times. Her stage work includes roles such as Dinah in A Quiet Place (Opera Zuid), Mercédès in Carmen (Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg), Iphigénie in Iphigénie en Tauride (Euphonia Opera), Annina in La Traviata (Clonter Opera), and Zerlina in Don Giovanni (Rye Arts Festival). Turiya has also created contemporary roles in world premieres, including The Hive (Grimeborn Festival) and Der Eisenhut (Tête à Tête Opera). Her performances have taken her to major concert venues across Belgium, France, Germany, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. In 2025, she performed at the Royal Gala of the Belgian Economic Mission in Mumbai, led by Her Royal Highness Princess Astrid of Belgium.
A versatile artist with a passion for crossover, Turiya was featured on Dutch national television (Podium Klassiek) in 2023, performing alongside the Fuse ensemble and jazz pianist Sven Figee in celebration of the Maestro biopic about Leonard Bernstein. She is a prizewinner of several international competitions, including the III Berliner International Music Competition, the Kattenburg Competition, Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg, and New Tenuto, and was selected for the prestigious Vocal Residency at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence.
Beyond her performing career, Turiya is a vocal and mental performance coach (VibrantVoice© Coaching) and co-founder of Somatic Songwriters© a platform helping artists reconnect with their body, voice, and creative flow using somatic practice, neuroscience, and songwriting.
She is also an advocate for the arts as the cou-founder and artistic director of the multidisciplinary arts centre AR’T Glorie in Antwerp.
